Job Description

BACKGROUND

Require a full time and part time (22.5 hours per week) Epidemiologist for research work on Enhanced Invasive Group A Streptococcal Disases (iGas) activities in Canada.

Will be required to update guidance documents on the prevention & control of iGas.

Enhanced surveillance linking lab and epidemiologicial data & advancement in lab typing of isolates.

Able to support other Section activities eg biannual vaccine preventable Diseases Report.

Develop database for management of iGas data

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

Undergraduate degree in epidemiology, biology, chemistry, biochemistry or other relevant field.

A graduate degree in  epidemiology from a recognized post secondary institution.

Minimum of 3 – 5 years experience conducting health-related surveillance.

Minimum of 3 – 5 years using statistical software eg SAS, SPSS

Minimum of 3 – 5 years writing surveillance reports

Minimum 3 – 5 years working in public health at the local authorities level.

Unilingual English but must have valid Enhanced security clearance.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
